Summary :Jejak warisan negeri Pahang menjadi saksi bahawa kewujudan tamadun terdahulu\r\namat mementingkan pembangunan modal insan dalam aspek politik, ekonomi, pendidikan\r\ndan lain-lain. Hakikat kecemerlangan umat dalam bidang Ilmu dinukilkan dengan kata-kata\r\nyang memberangsangkan oleh Muhammad Asad dalam karyanya yang berjudul “ Islam At\r\nThe Crossroads” (1982 : 66-67)) bahawa:\r\nHistory proves beyond any possibility of doubt that no religion has ever given a\r\nstimulus to scientific progress comparable to that of Islam. The encouragement which\r\nlearning and scientific research received from Islamic theology resulted in the splendid\r\nculture achievement in the day of the Umayyad and Abbasids and the Arab rule Sicily\r\nand Spain. I do not mention in order that we might boast of those glorious memories at\r\na time when the Islamic world has forsaken its own tardyons and reverted to spiritual\r\nblindness and intellectual poverty. We have no right, in our present misery, to boast of\r\npast glories. But we must realize that it was the Muslim and not any defiance in the\r\nteachings of Islam that cause our present decay… Islam has never been barrier to\r\nprogress and science. (Muhammad Asad, 1982 : 66-67).
