Abstract : Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia
Raub district in Pahang is a district that has many ecotourism attractions such as Chekas Island Recreation Center, Lata Jarum, Lata Lembik, Lata Berembun, Aina  Fahad  Land,  Aina  Farouk  Land,  Rock  Mountain  Resort  and  many  more.  However,  formal  and  informal  economic  activities  that  has  been  carried  out  at  the  Chekas  Island  Recreation  Center  are  still  at  a  low  level.  Most  of  the  locals  do  not  make the most of the opportunities available. The objective of this study is divided into  two,  namely  to  identify  the  types  of  formal  and  informal  sector  businesses  in Chekas Island Recreation Center and to examine the benefits obtained by the formal and  informal  sectors  with  the  eco-tourism  industry  in  Chekas  Island  Recreation  Center. The scope of this study focuses on traders and entrepreneurs in the formal and informal economic sector at the Chekas Island Recreation Center which consists of residents  around  Mukim  Ulu  Dong,  Raub,  Pahang.  The  research  methodology  involved  two  data,  namely  primary  data  and  secondary  data.  The  research  method  used  is  a  qualitative  method  that  is  through  interviews.  Methods  of  data  analysis  obtained from the interviews were transcribed. The results of the study has found that there  are  two  main  types  of  business  conducted  by  the  respondents,  namely  the  operation of chalets for the formal sector and the sale of food and beverage stalls for the informal sector. In addition, the formal and informal sectors benefit a lot from the existence  of  this  Chekas  Island  recreation  center  such  as  increasing  income  and  providing employment opportunities. In conclusion, this study is expected to provide benefits to academic research as well as to relevant parties to obtain data in the futurehis study is divided into two, namely to identify the types future
