The Y.W.C.A Cookery Book of Malaya was first published in 1932 but continued to be republished nine The Y.W.C.A Cookery Book of Malaya was first published in 1932 but continued to be republished nine times, across three decades, into the 1960s. As a publication panning the pre-war and post-war periods of MalaLJa’s deǀelopŵeŶt, its various editions follow the changes in domestic interests and the evolution of social norms amongst Malayan women during these tumultuous times. The lives of the editors of this publication are of special interest as well, as they show the influence of foreign women on those of local women. times, across three decades, into the 1960s.
