Abstract :

The main Objective of this study was to assess the performance of the gaur capture breeding project undertaken by the Department of Wildlife and National Park ( DWNP) at Jenderak Breeding Centre in Pahang. The study was carried out based on secondary information from annual report and office record available at the captive gaur was generally increasing. Although planned mating has been practiced, with only five (3 males dan 2 females) Wild founders, certain degree of inbreeding cannot be avoided in the fourth generation.
